Best Wishes for a Happy, Healthy New Year!
Did you know this is our busiest time of the year? It’s not surprising when you consider all the New Year’s resolutions people make to be more conscious about their health. Maybe you have a sore throat that doesn’t seem to be getting better, or you’ve noticed the quality of your hearing isn’t what it used to be. These are just a few signs it may be time to see an ENT or audiology specialist. Whether you are stepping up your exercise routine, stopping to enjoy the simple pleasures in life, or doing some reorganizing, know that we are here if you need us.
As we kick off 2016, we wanted to give you a quick update on the latest from our practice. We continue to expand as our roots grow deeper in our Anchorage community, and we never want you to feel out of the loop. Here’s to a happy, healthy, and prosperous 2016!
Have You Met Dr. Lorenz?
2015 was an exciting year for our practice because we welcomed a fourth physician, Dr. Mark B. Lorenz. Dr. Lorenz has an extensive and impressive background, including board certification in both otolaryngology (head & neck) and neurotology (disorders of the ear). He graduated magna cum laude from Notre Dame University and earned his medical degree from the Ohio State University College of Medicine. After completing his residency in Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, he moved west to Los Angeles for fellowship training at the House Ear Clinic. After that, he relocated to Alaska for a position at the Alaska Native Medical Center, where he served as medical director of audiology. In 2015, Dr. Lorenz joined the ACENT team.
Aside from his diverse background, Dr. Lorenz is also known for his friendly demeanor and his passion for helping others. The next time you visit our practice, we hope you’ll say hello to Dr. Lorenz! To learn more about Dr. Lorenz and our other physicians, click here.
Introducing Kaylyn, Our Newest Addition!
We recently welcomed another new face to our practice. Just a few weeks ago, Kaylyn Hum officially joined our team as an audiologist. We made her feel right at home with a fresh bouquet of beautiful flowers! Kaylyn will offer the following audiology services:
- Hearing screenings and evaluations: Routine hearing screenings are just as important as any other regular health exam. By staying ahead of hearing loss, adults and especially seniors can get treatment before it impacts their daily lives.
- Hearing aid fitting, programming, and repair: Should you need a hearing aid, we offer custom fittings as well as personalized support to help you operate and care for your device. Sometimes, hearing aids need to be reset as your hearing changes, and we also help patients with that.
If you think it may be time for you or a loved to have a hearing screening, we invite you to contact our Anchorage office online or call us at (907) 279-8800.
