What Level of Hearing Loss Requires a Hearing Aid?
Because patient tolerances vary widely, there is not a definite answer to this question. Therefore, we evaluate hearing loss and recommend subsequent treatment devices on a case-by-case basis. For example, a patient with mild hearing loss might welcome a device that helps decrease tinnitus. While a patient with profound hearing loss might have acclimated to the deficit and be unwilling to accept a hearing aid device at all.
I want to thank you for everything you've done to help me and be patient with me. It is obvious that you are very committed to your work and truly want to help your patients.Doug
What Are the Types of Hearing Aids?
If your hearing evaluation indicated that you are a candidate for a hearing aid, your audiologist will review the following types of hearing aids (see illustrations below) to help you choose the one that is best suited to your preferences, lifestyle, and needs. For more information about hearing aids, review our answers to frequently asked questions at the end of the page.
Important: Certain types of hearing aids may not be suited to your specific hearing needs or ear anatomy.
